B L U E • T O P I T O S

Una de las cosas que pasa cuando una cambia de look drásticamente es que de pronto los colores que usamos varían. No es que los de antes no te gustan, es que se generan nuevas ideas y combinaciones y de pronto notás que ciertos colores se ven mejor que nunca cuando te mirás en el espejo. 
Este es el caso del azul marino ahora que soy blonda. Es un color clásico que siempre me gustó, de hecho era mi favorito cuando era niña, y lo he usado muchísimo, pero ahora lo veo con ojos diferentes, recurrentes. ;) 
Fue así que con este nuevo amor por el azul me reencontré con ésta falda de topitos, o lunares, que compré hace un par de años en Gap. Me encanta. Es súper femenina, delicada y cómoda. Y aunque es más de verano, con medias va súper bien.

 ¿Les pasó algo similar luego de un cambio de look?

One of the things that tend to happen when you change your look drastically is that suddenly you start wearing different colors. It´s not that you no longer like your good old faves, but the truth is that new pairings arrise and you notice that certain colors look amazingly well, like never before.
This is what happened to me with navy blue since I´m a blonde. It´s definitely one of those classic colors ( which btw was my favorite when I was a little girl) that I´ve worn  many times, but that I see through different eyes now. Hence, I gravitate to it frequently. 
It´s thanks to this rekindled love with blue that I came accross this cute polka dot skirt that I got at Gap a couple of years ago. I love it! It´s femenine, delicate and super comfy. And, although it´s more of a summer piece, I love how it looks on layered with tights.

T U N E L

Desde que llegué a Roma y transité éste túnel, supe que tenía que usarlo como locación para algún look. Así que aquí está… ¿No es magnífico? Hay algo en la perspectiva y su luminosidad que me encanta. Me transmite una sensación medio futurista. 

El look de hoy es muy casual pero con un toque de color para hacerlo más divertido… Ni más ni menos que de la mano de un poco de naranja… un color que sin dudas me viene gustando hace un montón de tiempo (ver acá, acá, acá, acá y acá si no me creen). Al principio pensé que me interesaba más como una tendencia pasajera, pero ahora pienso que es un color que se instaló en mis gustos y cuando entro a una tienda y veo ropa o accesorios de éste color me pongo contenta. No sólo me gusta en la ropa, también me encanta en  maquillaje en su versión "coral", sobre todo en verano.

Ever since I got to Rome and walked through this tunnel I just knew I had to use it as a location for one of my outfit posts. So, here it is. Isn´t it amazing? There´s something about the lighting and its perspective that fascinates me. It gives me some kind of a futuristic feel. 

Todays outfit is very casual but with a pop of color to make it more fun… And, of course, that is my good friend orange, a color that without a doubt I´ve been in love with for a while now (check here, here, here, here and here if you don´t believe me). At first I thought I was only drawn to it temporarily like it tends to happen with many other trends, but now I think it´s more of a staple of mine, a color I´ve added to my personal taste. So much so, that when I walk into a store and see items in this color I get all happy and excited. And it doesn´t finish with clothing, I actually love it on beauty items as well… especially in the coral hue, which I love to wear during summer on my lips, nails and cheeks.

MUSIC NIGHTS / Regina + Keane

Una de las cosas que más me gusta de Buenos Aires es que tiene una oferta musical muy amplia y casi constante durante todo el año. Muchas bandas grossas vienen a tocar acá y me alegra enormemente estar para poder disfrutarlo.  

Durante este mes tuve la oportunidad de ir a ver el show de Regina Spektor en  GEBA y el de Keane en el Luna Park. Ambos, con estilos diferentes, fueron espectaculares. En una película que vi hace poco compartían un quote de Nietzsche que dice "la vida sin música sería un error". No podría estar más de acuerdo. La música es fundamental! 

Esto me puse para el show de Regina! Algo cómodo y calentito, con mi nueva reme de Hey McFly. :)

One of the things I love the most about Buenos Aires is that lots of cool bands come to play here. There´s awesome musical visits almost all year round and I´m very grateful to have the opportunity to be here now and be able to enjoy it. 
During April I went to 2 very different concerts, Regina Spektor and, more recently, Keane. Both of them were amazing in their own way.
In a movie I recently saw they mentioned a very cool quote by Nietzche that says "life without music would be a mistake". I couldn´t agree more... Music is vital!
This was my OOTD when I went to Regina´s show. :)

JUSTO + SUELTO

Uno de los recursos que más utilizo al momento de vestirme es el justo + suelto. De qué va esto? Ni toda apretada, ni toda suelta. Creo que alternar prendas en cuanto a su adhesión al cuerpo genera un balance muy positivo. Si uso un pantalón apretado, trato de relajar un poco con la parte de arriba y viceversa. Es una regla que no la aplico religiosamente todos los días, pero funciona en muchos casos... y el espejo siempre me lo confirma. 
Hoy les muestro estos pantalones nuevos de Zara de los cuales estoy totalmente enamorada! Son de una tela muy extraña que combina la rigidez con la flexibilidad y el color es fabuloso. A decir verdad son más de invierno que de verano... Pero no me pude resistir a usarlos este día. Aunque me guste mucho el verano, extraño un poco el invierno! Me imagino usando estos pantalones con unas botas lindas, una camisa y un buen sweater... 
En fin!

TIGHT + LOOSE

One of the things I doa lot when getting dressed is the "tight + loose" -it´s a thing, I swear- LOL. Now... what does this mean? I don´t wear only tight clothes or only loose clothes. I think that mixing it up creates a very uplifting balance. If i wear tight bottoms I go for something more distressed in the top and viceversa. I don´t apply this rule every day, but it works in many cases... and the mirror always confirms it.

Today I´m showing you these new pants from Zara and I must say I´m quite smitten with them! They are made of a very weird fabric that combines rigidity with flexibility and the color is just fabulous. To be honest with you, they are more apt for winter outfits... but I couldn´t resist it and just had to wear them that day. Despite the fact that I love summer, I miss winter a little! I can see myself wearing these pants with a nice pair of boots, a button down shirt and a chunky sweater... Sigh!

SUIT UP! - Meetings & Interviews -

Hola hola!

En el día de hoy mi outfit es bastante plain jane pero viene con explicación y todo. Mi querídisima hermana de vez en cuando me pide ayuda para vestirse y hace poco me comentó que tenía una reunión importante y no sabía qué ponerse. Por ende se me ocurrió que sería una buena idea hacer un post alrededor de esta problemática, que seguro a más de una le pueda servir. La propuesta es un look muy clásico que puede funcionar para una reunión de trabajo, como también para una entrevista para conseguir uno.

Hay varios elementos a tener en cuenta, el primero y más importante es que queremos causar una buena impresión, pero desde un costado formal y profesional.

Algunos tips:

Una prenda de sastrería: como este saco de Zara le da estructura y formalidad al look. No es una prenda barata, pero vale la pena invertir en uno y aprender a reutilizarlo de diferentes formas.  

Pantalón: si elegís esto para la parte de abajo, recomendaría un color oscuro, como por ejemplo el azul, el negro, el marrón y el gris oscuro que son colores nobles. En cuanto a la forma o el modelo, elegiría algo sencillo y clásico (sin desgastados en la tela, cierres por todos lados, roturas, etc).

Vestido/ falda: totalmente permitido, pero ojo con el largo. Una falda muy corta puede quedar vulgar, asique considerá este detalle! También tené en cuenta que no sea ni escotado ni demasiado pegado al cuerpo.

Camisa: honestamente no tenía una camisa adecuada para este look (están en BsAs) asique usé una remera. Pero la verdad es que una linda camisa es una gran opción. Tanto lisas como estampadas dan un toque femenino y formal para una ocasión como esta.

Zapatos: si o si tienen que ser cerrados. Es muy informal mostrar los pies. Si hace mucho calor podés optar por unas chatitas que le dan al pie un poco de aire conservando la elegancia.

Make up: yo usaría una sombra suave (algún color pastel) en los ojos, un leve delineado y mascara de pestañas. Para los labios evitaría los colores shocking, pero podés utilizar el que más te guste.

Pelo: la verdad es que yo no soy ninguna experta, pero lo llevaría o suelto o atado prolijamente con una trenza o rodete.

Accesorios: pocos y bien administrados! El sobre que tengo en este post lo hice YO! Seguí un DIY que encontré en youtube y estoy feliz con como quedó… ni una sola costura! Todo pegado. Les dejo el link por si les interesa probar! CLICK ACÁ PARA IR AL VIDEO!

SO PROUD OF MY DIY ENVELOPE CLUTCH :)

Well, hello there!

Today´s outfit is pretty plain jane, but it comes with a cool explanation. Every once in a while, my beloved sister asks for my fashion advice and not too long ago she aksed me to help her come up with an outfit idea for an important meeting. Therefore I thought it would be a good idea to do a post about this subject, I’m sure it can be helpful for a few of you! The idea is t do a very classic look that can be worn for either a business meeting or to a job interview too.

 There are many things to consider, but the most important one is that you want to make a good impression, from a professional standpoint.

Here are a few tips:

A tailored piece: like this blazer from Zara. This adds structure and elegance to your look. It´s not a cheap garment, but it´s worth it to invest in at least one of these items and then you can learn how to pair it in different ways.  

Pants: if you chose to wear pants, i´d suggest you go for a dark color like blue, black, brown or dark grey. All of them are traditional and noble colors. As to the shape/style i would chose something classic and simple (no faded colors in the fabric, or zippers and holes everywhere, etc).  

Dress/skirt: these options are totally allowed! But be careful with the length. A very short skirt could look tacky, so keep this detail in mind! Also be careful with the cleavage and make sure it´s not too tight.

Shirt/blouse: to be completely honest, i didn´t have an appropriate shirt to wear with this look (they´re all at home in Buenos Aires!) so I wore a t-shirt. But the truth is that a nice shirt is a great option for this look. Either plain or printed they give a girly yet elegant feel.  

Zapatos: they have to be closed. Showing off your feet is very informal. If its very hot you can go for a pair of ballerina flats which will give your feet enough air while remaining classy.

Make up: I’d go for a soft eye shadow (neutral or pastel colors), some slight eyeliner and mascara. For the lips I’d avoid any bold colors, but you can use whichever you like best.

Hair: the truth is that I’m not an expert of hairstyling, but I’d leave it down or tied carefully as a braid or bun.

Accessories: just a few and thoughtfully placed! I made the envelope clutch i´m using for this post! I followed the steps of a very easy DIY I found on youtube and I’m very happy of how it turned out… not one single seam! All of it was super-glued!  Click here to watch that DIY!

Rock n´Roll / Vintage Shorts!

Hola de nuevo! Tuve una semana de lo más intensa, pero finalmente logré encontrar un momento para subir fotos nuevas!

En el día de hoy les muestro un look bien veraniego y fácil de reproducir. La clave del mismo reside en los shorts! Estos no se compran en ningún lado, SE HACEN en casa... lo cual es bastante bueno en esta época del año en que el bolsillo está fundido. Agarrá un par de jeans viejos, medí cuán cortos querés que te queden los shorts y CORTÁ (usá una tijera para tela, nada de usar la "escolar" desafilada). Tené en mente que la bolsa del bolsillo no sea vilmente recortada, ya que la idea es que después sobresalgan y se vean. A mí me da la sensación que dan un toque sexy y original (y si la tela interna es de otro color mejor!). Si querés también podés deshilacharlos y desgastarlos para un look aún más rockero. Et voila! shorts nuevos por $0. 

Espero que les gusten las fotos! Mi súper amiga Ale se copó y nos aventuramos por las vías para lograr algo más original. Después de todo, estabamos en "rocker mode", -a.k.a rebelión! -.

Hi there! I´ve had a very intense week but finally i´ve managed to make some time to upload some new pictures!

For today I wanted to show a very summery and easy-to-achieve look. The key to this look is in the shorts! These can´t be bought anywhere, they´re homemade… which is pretty good, especially during this time of the year when your wallet is broke. Grab a pair of old jeans, measure how short you want your shorts to be and CUT (use fabric-cutting scissors, not the one from elementary school). Don´t cut the pocket´s lining, since the idea is for them to stick out and be visible. I have the idea that they add a sexy and original touch (and if the lining is colored, even better!). If you feel like it, you can also rip and wear them out a little more for more of a rocker feel. And voila! New shorts for $0.

I hope you like the pictures! Ale, a really good friend of mine, was awesome enough to volunteer and take my pictures. We  ventured along the railways to do something more creative. After all, we were in “rocker mode” –a.k.a rebellious!-.
