DOMINGOS NO STRESS

Al trabajar en producción, eso implica que la mayoría de los domingos me toca trabajar (aunque por suerte ahora tengo un bache! YAY). Todos sabemos que un domingo tiene una energía diferente al resto de los días de la semana. Hay días que luchamos contra ella y hay otros, como me pasó en el domingo de estas fotos, que no se puede... Como tenía que cumplir con mi trabajo, no podía quedarme en pijama todo el día, pero sí traté de ir lo más presentable y cómoda. Un par de accesorios, un lindo makeup y voilá!

Working for a production company means that most sundays I have to work (although right now I´m on a little break! yay!) . I´m pretty sure it´s clear that sundays have a particular energy, that´s different from the rest of the days. Somedays we fight against it, while other days, like the sunday when I shot these photos, that you simply can´t resist it... Since i had to go to work, staying on my pijamas all day wasn´t an option. However, I tried to look nice and neat yet remaining comfortable. A few accesories and a cute makeup and voilá!

CIAO TRAPEZIO RED!

Llegó la hora de revelar mi nuevo paradero temporal... aunque a juzgar por el título ya deberías tener una noción de donde me encuentro. 


Estoy en Italia! :)


Precisamente en la ciudad de Torino -también conocida como Turin-, que se encuentra al noroeste de este país... Llegué el miércoles pasado luego de 15 horas de viaje, pero con la diferencia horaria (son 5 horas más que en BsAs) yo sentí que fueron muchas más. Mi cuerpo y mi cabeza estaban totalmente confundidos. Asique aquí estoy! Los posts de las siguientes semanas van a ser todos desde acá. Espero que disfruten de los looks, así como también de lo que les iré mostrando y contando de esta ciudad tan linda que ya me tiene hechizada!


A diferencia de lo que la mayoría piensa, el italiano no es TAN parecido al español. Hay una similitud evidente en la entonación y la melodía de los idiomas, pero son muy distintos... Con decir que para comunicarme con algunas personas de acá prefieren que usemos el inglés como punto de encuentro! Gracias a google, youtube y el idioma gestual me arreglo. Veremos si con el tiempo aprendo al menos un poco más. 


En este look, de nuevo estoy utilizando una prenda que era de la genia de mi abuela, Vieji. En realidad era una falda pero hace años le corté dos agujeros y lo convertí en un chaleco... pero no lo había usado nunca. Lo reencontré en casa mientras hacía orden en mi placard y me lo traje. La silueta trapezoidal que lo caracteriza genera un look que mezcla lo sofisticado y lo cómodo.

It is time to reveal my current temporary whereabouts... However, if you read the title then you should have at least a feeling of where it might be.


I´m in Italy! :)


Specifically in the city of Turin, which is located in the northwest of this country... I arrived last Wednesday after 15 hours of travel, which was quite a ride. And plus the fact that its 5 hours + here than at home i felt like the trip had been even longer... Both my body and head were quite confused! So anyways... here i am! For the next weeks expect to see me posting from here. I hope you enjoy my outfits as well as what i´ll be showing and telling you about this beautiful city that´s already got me under its spell! 


Contrary to popular beliefs, the Italian language is almost nothing like Spanish. There is a clear similarity in terms of the intonation and the melody of the languages, but besides that they´re very different... So much so that some of the people i work with prefer to talk to me in english than trying to understand my spanish... sigh. Thanks to google, youtube and gestures, i get by. We´ll see if in time i get to master the language!


For this outfit I am -yet again- using something that belonged to Vieji, my awesome grandmother. This was actually a skirt but years ago i cut two holes on the sides and transformed it into a vest... but i had never worn it up until now. I was lucky  to find it at home while i was tidying up my closet and I decided to bring it here. It´s trapezium-like shape helps to create a look that´s both sophisticated and comfortable.

DEVORÉ + GREEN PARKA

Una de mis telas preferidas o que más logra captar mi atención es la de esta remera blanca que tengo hoy. La técnica que se aplicó para que quede así se llama Devoré. Según lo que leí consiste en aplicar una pasta sobre la tela y la misma “come” la tela siguiendo un determinado diseño. El resultado es una textura increíble.

Esta remera era de mi mamá, pero como vio que se la pedía muy seguido eventualmente decidió  regalármela (gracias Ma!). Me pareció que era la pareja perfecta para lucir esta parka! Y como no podía ser de otro modo, agregué un poco de color a la composición con este vestidito azul de rayas.

Aquellas que sean un poco  más adictas a la moda podrán notar que mi cartera es muy similar a la  Phantom de Celine… Me puso muy contenta encontrar una cartera inspirada en ese modelo y más aún conseguirla por debajo de los 20 dólares en Ross!! (la original ronda los 3000). Suerte que no había en otro color porque seguro me la llevaba! Las que vengan a Estados Unidos no dejen de ir a investigar a Ross, siempre hay tesoros por descubrir! :)

The t-shirt I’m wearing today is made out of one of my favorite fabrics, a fabric that I tend to feel attracted to very often. The technique applied on the fabric to be this way is called Devoré. According to what I read about it, a paste is spread over the fabric and it “eats” certain parts of it following a random pattern. The result is an amazing texture.

This t-shirt belonged to my mom, but she gave it to me after realizing I borrowed it way too much (Thanks Mom!). I thought it was the perfect match to go with this green parka! But of course I had to add a little pop of color to the composition and I did it with this pretty striped blue dress.

Those of you who are fashion addicts –like me- might notice that my bag holds great resemblance to Celine´s Phantom… I was very happy to find a bag inspired on that model and even more to pay less than 20 bucks for it at Ross!! (the real ones cost around $3000). I´m glad they didn´t have it in any other colors because I would have certainly bought those too! Those of you coming to the USA (or living here) should definitely go to Ross and investigate a little bit; there are always hidden treasures there! :)

ESTE NO ES UN POST DEL BAF

Si leés mi blog con frecuencia tal vez recuerdes que mencioné que mis días libres son los lunes. y sino, te estás enterando! Este lunes teníamos planes de ir a uno de los parques de Universal Studios, pero el clima pronosticado no era muy bueno... se avecinaba una tormenta. Asique, suspendidos los planes! 

A falta de un plan que nos exigiera un horario y organización, obviamente ocurrió lo contrario: NO HACER NADA. 

Por un momento pensé que no me iba a levantar más. Pero después recapacité y me acordé que el lunes es el único día que puedo salir a dar vueltas y hacer fotos lindas. La luz estaba yendose asique están algo movidas, sepan disculpar! :)

Por estos días, mis fellow-bloggers argentinas están como abejitas ocupadas cubriendo el BAFWEEK edición otoño-invierno 2012. Asistiendo a desfiles, compartiendo looks,  reviews y fotos. Debo admitir que me dieron muchas ganas de estar en Buenos Aires y poder hacer lo mismo. Pero bueno, todo no se puede! La próxima será... Aún queda el día de mañana para visitar el BAF. Si no pueden ir, entren en los blogs (en la barra de la derecha hay una lista con links de blogs argentinos) para ponerse al día! 

If you read my blog frequently, then you might remember me mentioning that Monday is my day off. And if this is not the case, well you´re acknowledging that now! This Monday we were planning to go to one of the amusement parks at Universal Studios, but the weather forecast wasn´t very promising … a storm was coming! So our plans were postponed.  

So without a plan that required a schedule and getting organized, the complete opposite occurred: doing nothing.

For a moment I was afraid that I wouldn’t be able to get up. But then I thought about it and remembered that Monday is the only day of the week that I can go out and take nice pictures. The sun was going down, so these pictures are slightly blurry. Please forgive me!

These days, my Argentinean fellow bloggers are running around like busy bees covering the fall/winter 12´ edition of BAFWEEK (our local fashion week), attending runway shows, sharing outfits, reviews and pictures. I must admit that I really felt like being in Buenos Aires and do the same. But… you can´t get everything you want! Maybe next time i´ll be home… Tomorrow is the last day to visit BAF.
