Trenchy Business + #Happy

Llegó el frío a Roma y no vino solo… la lluvia lo acompaña con frecuencia, con lo cual estuve usando muchísimo mi querido trench que ya conocieron acá. Es un placer usarlo porque se seca súper rápido y es una prenda liviana. 

Por otro lado les presento mis nuevas botas negras. Me las regaló Gui para mi cumpleaños y son perfectas. Tienen un taco bajo que ayudan para estilizar -al menos un poco- cualquier look, son cómodas y pegan con todo. No paro de usarlas desde que las tengo… Así que preparense porque las van ver seguido por acá. :)

Por otro lado quería compartir con ustedes algo que me tiene fascinada y tiene que ver con el mundo de la música. Aquellos que hayan visto "Despicable Me 2" seguramente hayan escuchado Happy, una canción de Pharrell Williams que compuso para la banda sonora de la película. Resulta que hicieron un video de 24 horas (Sí, desde las 00:00hs hasta las 24:00hs) donde diferentes personas bailan la canción a su estilo, avanzando por diferentes calles y lugares de Los Angeles, California. Colder weather has arrived in Rome and it didn´t come on its own… It´s been rainy too. Therefore I have been using my trench a lot (also wore it here). Its a great piece, lightweight and it dries up really quickly.

On another note, say hello to my new black booties! Gui got them for my birthday and they are perfect. They are not only comfortable but also easy to pair and they have a low heel that makes any outfit a bit more flattering. I have been wearing them a ton lately, so prepare yourself to see them frequently on the blog. :)

I also wanted to share with you something that´s happened within the music industry and I feel is absolutely amazing and worth sharing. Those of you who´ve watched Despicable Me 2 might have heard the song Happy that Pharrell Williams did for the movie´s soundtrack. The song itself was beautiful… But, they´ve done something even more incredible out of it: a 24 hour long video with the song on repeat and where random people dance to it in their own particular way. Shot in different streets and places in Los Angeles, I´ve been obsessed with it and can´t stop watching it. If you´re curious and want to check it out, head over to 24hoursofhappy.com. UP WITH THE BIRDS

Una de las cosas que he estado intentando hacer últimamente es incorporar prendas que en otro momento no hubiese comprado. No porque no me gustasen sino más bien por miedo a que no me queden bien o por no tener idea de cómo usarlas. Este cambio de cabeza, es una forma de desafío, para salir de mi confort zone en busca de nuevos looks y expresiones de moda. 

Si hay algo que me inspira y gusta mucho es cuando veo las mujeres importantes de la industria haciendo despliegue total de sus guardarropas en la escena de los desfiles que nos trae cada meca de la moda. Y siempre pienso: yo quiero mezclar estampados y texturas ASÍ. El problema es que en esa misma escala no es tan fácil porque semejante pompa es innecesaria en mi vida diaria y sería incluso ridículo que vaya a trabajar de forma semejante. Sin embargo, me interesa jugar con la idea de bajarlo a mi propia vida y adaptar esa inspiración a mis outfits. 

Para el look de hoy, con ese ejercicio en mente, usé esta camisa con pajaritos (inspirada en miu miu), que compré en Blicha aún estando en Buenos Aires, junto con esta falda que compré en las rebajas de Zara. En otro momento jamás hubiera mezclado ambas prendas, pero ésta vez se sintió bien e ideal. 

¿Son de probar nuevas prendas/estampados/formas? ¿O se mantienen firmes en sus aliados de siempre?

Something I´ve been trying out lately is to buy clothes that I wouldn´t have bought in the past. And this isn´t because I didn´t like them before, it´s more related to the fear of wearing styles that wouldn´t compliment my body or that I would find difficult to pair. So, this change of mind is kind of a challenge for me to step out of my comfort zone, in pursuit of fresh new looks and fashion statements. 

I normally get very inspired when I see the outfits that the great women of the fashion industry rock during fashion weeks. I feel like they display all the goods that they keep in those amazing closets for us to enjoy and value their talent. And it always makes me think: I want to mix prints and shapes like that! The problem is that copying their style wouldn´t look good on me... it´s way to flashy for my daily routine. I´d look ridiculous going to work like that. However, I find it interesting to adapt that inspiration and leveling it down to match my circumstances. 

Hence, with that exercise in mind, I paired this miu miu inspired bird print white shirt I got before leaving Buenos Aires with this pretty striped skirt from Zara. One year ago I would´ve probably never mixed these two pieces, but today it felt right and great.

Hay algo que me está interesando mucho últimamente y es la incorporación de movimiento en mis fotografías. Creo que les da un toque especial, agrega una suerte de magia a la producción en sí. Mi intención a través de este blog no es solo mostrar ropa sino también hacer un juego creativo, que vos vengas y veas algo que te guste, algo que despierte en vos una sonrisa, una inspiración, un recuerdo.

Me enamoré de este vestidito apenas lo ví. Una vez que me lo probé supe que tenía que ser mío. Es lindo y femenino...

There´s something that I´ve been drawn to very much lately, that is adding movement to my pictures. I think it makes them more special, creating a magical effect. My intention through this blog is not only to feature my clothes but also develop a creative game... So that you come here and see something that you like, something that makes you smile, inspires you, reminds you of something you went through. 
I fell in love instantly with this cute dress. After trying it on I knew it had to be mine. Its pretty and feminine...
