MYKONOS

En septiembre de este año pude cumplir uno de mis sueños: conocer Grecia. Es normal tener destinos idílicos en el tintero de los sueños...¿no? Estaba en mi lista de pendientes y lo pude concretar. Las fotos que les muestro hoy las tomamos en el balcón de nuestra habitación, en la isla de Mykonos, un lugar perfecto para desconectar y disfrutar de unos días de descanso... Agua turquesa, casitas blancas pintorescas y excelente compañía. ¿Qué más se puede pedir?

El look es muy sencillo pero ideal para un día de verano en la playa... La camisa de jean es la perfecta aliada para sacar del bolso cuando cae el sol y refresca. ¿Los zapatos? Claramente no los usé para ir a la playa! Pero me divertía darle un poco de glamour a la situación. :)

In september I was able to fulfill one of my dreams: taking a trip to Greece. I guess its normal to have these kind of ideal desinations in the back of your head, right? Well it happened to be in my "to do" list and I was able to make it happen. The pictures you see here were taken on the balcony of our hotel room in the island of Mykonos, a perfect place to disconnect from reality and enjoy a much deserved break... Clear water, beautiful picturesque houses and great company. What more could I ask for?
As to the outfit, its very simple yet perfect for a day at the beach.. The denim shirt is a great choice to pull out of your tote once the sun has set and it gets chilly... And the shoes? Well of course I didn´t wear them to the beach!! I just felt like adding a little glamour to this shoot! :)

PARK GÜELL: MINT + WHITE

Feliz Lunes!

Durante mi corta visita a Barcelona fui con mi hermana al Park Güell, una de las tantas obras del maestro Gaudí. Como es un lugar súper turístico, fuimos bien temprano para que las fotos no se vieran atestadas de gente. Gaudí se caracterizaba por diseñar sus obras siguiendo un patrón descontracturado y natural, sus proyectos desbordan de elementos orgánicos y movimiento. Hay que admirar cada detalle... es casi como si sus obras tuvieran vida y se movieran al compas de la naturaleza. 

Como habrán visto en mi post anterior, donde estoy ahora es verano... y uno de los aspectos que más me gusta del mismo es que me dan ganas de usar ropa blanca. Creo que las prendas claras reflejan y acompañan la luminosidad y la alegría de la época.

En el outfit de estas fotos opté por acompañar mis pantalones blancos con una de mis remeras favoritas de esta temporada en ese color que se hace llamar "mint" y unas sandalias nuevas muy bonitas que compré hace poco en una casa de zapatos de acá que se llama Eve Milano (tienen cosas muy lindas! y no tan caras, en relación a los precios de las demás zapaterías). Para levantar un poco el look agregué un pañuelo estampado y un toque de color en los ojos.

During my short visit to Barcelona I went with my sister to Park Güell, one of the many  masterpieces of the well known architect: Gaudí. We arrived very early in the morning to avoid the large touristy crowds and keep the pictures clean. Gaudí is well known for his natural-like style when it came to designing his work. His projects overflow with organic elements and movement. I think it´s worth it to take some time and admire every detail… it´s almost as if those places were alive and in constant growth together with nature.

As you might have seen on my previous post, it´s summer where I am now … and one of the things I love most about summer is that I feel like wearing white clothes. I think that wearing bright neutrals go well together with the luminosity and enhance the cheerfulness of this time of the year.

For this outfit I paired my white pants with one of my favorite t-shirts of this season, in that oh-so-trendy color called mint, and a pair of slightly new sandals that I bought recently at a local Italian shoe store called Eve Milano (they have really cute stuff and not expensive compared to other places I’ve seen around here). And to add a pop of color I added this beautiful printed scarf and a hint of teal on my eyes.

How do you pair white pants? Do you wear them at all?

SUMMERY LACE

Hace un par de semanas fui a visitar  a mi hermana a Barcelona. 

Cuando éramos adolescentes, ella tenía una fascinación muy grande por la fotografía... hacía cursos, investigaba diferentes técnicas, ensayaba efectos, probaba velocidades, entre otros experimentos. Muchas veces jugué a la modelo delante de su lente. 

Pero después se le pasó.

Entonces cuando le pedí que me saque fotos le pareció una buena idea, pero dudaba de su capacidad... pensaba que estaría demasiado oxidada para hacerlo bien. Yo le dije que el buen ojo nunca se pierde. Algo así como andar en bicicleta... Aunque no te subas durante dos años, apenas la agarrás de nuevo, el cuerpo recuerda exactamente como operar. 

Creo que las fotos apoyan mi teoría. LOVE YOU manite, gracias por tu colaboración artística!

En cuanto a la ropa: Este vestido fue una de mis últimas compras antes de irme de EEUU.  Me gustó tanto que estuve cerca de comprármelo en otro color. Su moldería hace que sea favorecedor para diferentes tipos de cuerpo y la textura del encaje me resulta súper femenina. Y bueh, es naranja. A few weeks ago i went to Barcelona to visit my sister.

When we were teenagers she had quite the fascination for photography… She took classes, investigated different techniques, tested several effects and shutter speeds, among other experiments. Many times I´d pretend I was a model and play for her lens.

But eventually she got over it.

So, when I asked if we could do some pictures for the blog together she liked the idea, but doubted herself. She thought her skills were too rusty to be able to pull it off. But I told her that that kind of training is never lost. Very much like riding a bicycle… even if you haven´t ridden it for 2 years, as soon as you go on it again your body remembers exactly how to operate.

I think these pictures speak for themselves and support my theory. LOVE YOU sistaaa, thanks for your artistic collaboration!

As to the clothes: This dress was one of the very last things I bought before I left the states. I liked it SO MUCH that I almost get another one in a different color. I think its shape can be flattering for different body types and the lacey texture makes it very feminine. And well, its orange. SUNNY PASTELS!

Hola a todos!

Aquí estoy, reportándome desde Buenos Aires! 

Estos últimos han sido días muy intensos... Antes de viajar estuve con mucho trabajo y desde que llegué no paré un segundo. Considerando que me quedo solo unos días, estoy aprovechando mi tiempo al máximo... 

Estas fotos son del último lunes que tuve libre. Fuimos a conocer una playa llamada Longboat Key Beach, que queda  muy cerca de Sarasota, sobre el oeste de Florida... Esta playa, que está sobre el golfo de méxico, nos pareció un lugar espectacular para pasar el día y descansar un poco. No me faltaban ganas de quedarme unos días!

Hi everyone!

Here i am, updating from Buenos Aires!

These last few days have been very intense… Before flying home I was very busy with work and since I got here I have barely stopped. Considering I´ll be here for a few days only, I´m trying to make the most of my time…

These pictures were taken on my last Monday off. We went down to a beach close to Sarasota called Longboat Key Beach, on the west side of Florida. This beach, which looks into the Gulf of Mexico, seemed like a perfect place to spend the day and get some rest. I would´ve loved to stay there for a few days!

LIMA RELOADED!

Hola! Cómo los encuentra este jueves? Espero que muy bien! :)

Como comenté en este otro post, una tendencia que me atrapó bastante últimamente es todo aquello de color verde lima. La musculosa de estas fotos la compré hace unos meses y me encantó básicamente porque es suelta y súper liviana, lo cual es óptimo para los días de calor que no dan ganas de tener algo pegado al cuerpo. Lo combiné con esta pollera negra (que también usé acá) porque da la sensación de que es una sola prenda y esa ilusión de vestido me pareció genial. Pero como no me podía conformar con 3 colores, agregué un poco de pop con algunos flashes de rojo y mis flats de leopardo. DONE!

Qué les parece? Qué colores están usando estos días?

PD: vi la película “Hugo” hace unos días y me pareció muy linda! No solo me encantó la historia, sino que me pareció espectacular desde la música, la ambientación, los colores… todo! La súper recomiendo.

PD 2: estuve escuchando mucho el último cd de Coldplay, Mylo Xyloto, también aprovecho para recomendarlo. Si o si, escuchar con auriculares!

Hi everyone! How is this Thursday trating you? I hope very well!

Like I mentioned in this post, one of the trends that got to me lately is anything lime green. I bought this top a few months ago and I fell for it because its loose and very light, which is great for those hot days when you don´t feel like having clothes glued to your body. I paired it with this black skirt (also worn here) because it looks like it’s just one piece of clothing… and that illusion of a dress looked pretty cool! But of course I couldn´t just settle for 3 colors, so I added a little pop with some flashes of red and my leopard flats. DONE!

What do you think? Which colors have you been wearing most lately?

PS: I saw “Hugo” a few days ago and I loved it! Not only I loved the story, but I also think that the music, the scenery and the colors were spectacular… I highly recommend it!

PS 2: lately I’ve been listening Coldplay´s newest album, Mylo Xyloto, a LOT. I also wanted to recommend it! I think it’s very important to use headphones.
