COUCHER DE SOLEIL

Algo que me gusta mucho de Bruselas, al menos durante ésta época del año que me toca estar acá, es lo largo que es el día... El atardecer se hace desear y aparece recién alrededor de las 9pm. Me recuerda a mis vacaciones de cuando era chiquita... Con mi papá y mi hermana ibamos a El Bolsón a visitar a mi abuelo Willy, que vivía en una casa elevada en las laderas del Cerro Piltriquitrón. Ahí disfrutábamos semanas de días interminables, llenos de aventuras, recolección de frutas, paseos en gomón, pan casero, caminos de tierra, Willy tocando el piano, ferias artesanales, perros -y cachorritos!- de montaña , helados de Jauja y juegos de mesa, que casi siempre culminaban con unos atardeceres multicolores, cortesía del sol mientras se escondía tras los cerros. :) 

Éstas fotos fueron tomadas en el balcón de nuestro deptito. Un look muy media estación... Para esos dias que arrancan fresquitos y terminan cálidos.

Something that I really like about Brussels is how long the days are... of course during this time of the year, given it´s summer. The sunset takes its time to appear and it only does it as of 9pm onwards. For some reason, it reminds me of my summer holidays from when I was a little girl. With my dad and sister we´d go to El Bolson, a very unique and lovely small town in the south of argentina, next to the Andes Mountains. There lived Elwin, or like we called him Willy, my grandpa. I have the best memories of summer weeks spent there, where long days were enjoyed by going on adventures, collecting fresh fruits, eating home made bread, going on boat rides, driving on unpaved roads, Willy playing piano, visiting artisan markets, playing with mountain dogs -and puppies!-, having Jauja Ice Cream and playing family board games. Everyday would end with multicoloured sunsets, courtesy of the sun showing off its magic as it made its way behind the mountains. :)

These pictures I´m sharing today were shot at our small apartment´s balcony. A very mid-season like outfit... For those days that start off a bit chilly and make way to a warmer afternoon.

SIMPLE

Para fin de año viajé por 3 días 500km hacia el suroeste de la provincia de Buenos Aires donde mi familia paterna tiene campo... Destino: El Charito una pequeña estancia llena de magia donde pasé muchas vacaciones de pequeña. Ivonne (o Bonky como le decía yo), mi tía abuela, siempre nos esperaba con los brazos abiertos y hacía de nuestra estadía algo especial. Nos deleitaba con sus cookies caseras, nos encantaba con sus historias de campo y nos entretenía en los momentos de aburrimiento enseñándonos a bordar y jugar al crocket.  

El motivo del viaje esta vez fue muy insólito... mi prima segunda se casaba ahí! Y digo insólito porque ella nació y se crió en francia, por ende no era un simple viajecito de 4 horas sino toda una movida tanto para ella como para sus parientes y amigos que se trasladaron desde allá para compartir este momento tan importante. 

Como la casa estaba llena de franceses, nosotros nos instalamos en un pueblito cercano, lugar donde saqué estas fotos. 

Un look muy tranqui, pero lleno de detalles bonitos!

Back in December I went away, 500km southwest within the province of Buenos Aires, to spend New Year’s and also attend my second cousins wedding. The place where the wedding was held is a small ranch called "El Charito" where my great-aunt Ivonne used to live. This was one of the places where I´d go to during summer break when I was a kid… I have the nicest memories of my days spent there. Ivonne (or Bonky how I nicknamed her) would delight us with her homemade cookies, enchant us with her countryside stories and entertain us when boredom was inevitable, by teaching us how to embroider and to play croquet. 

My cousins’ wedding was actually quite a shocker... not because she was getting married, but actually because she is French, as in living in France!! And she decided to celebrate it here in Argentina... So imagine a bunch of french friends and relatives invading El Charito. It was definitely something special, unique and beautiful!

Given the house was full, my dad, grandma and I stayed at a hotel in a small town nearby, where we shot these pictures. 

A very simple outfit, but full of nice details!

El Gabinete de James!

El 7 de diciembre fue un día especial para mí... no por el "7D" del que tanto se hablaba, sino porque en una misma tarde, dos cosas importantes pasaron. Por un lado festejamos el cumple de mi hermanito (que de "ito" cada vez tiene menos... snif!) y por otro fue la inauguración del espacio de arte: El Gabinete de James, un nuevo y lindísimo proyecto de mamá.

December 7th was a very special day for me... On the very same day, 2 really important events took place. On the one hand we celebrated my little brother´s birthday (who´s not so little anymore... boohoo!) and on the other hand it was my mom´s gallery opening.  This beautiful and brand new project called "El Gabinete de James" will host different artists and also operate as an online art seller.

HAMACAS & MANZANAS

Cuando era chiquita una de las cosas que más me gustaba hacer era jugar en las hamacas de mi jardín. Junto a mis amigos inventábamos todo tipo de odiseas... al espacio, al futuro, a la nada... A veces nos convertíamos en personajes de los programas que veíamos, como los power rangers o los halcones galácticos. Sumergidos en nuestra imaginación y el vaivén de las hamacas que alentaba nuestra libertad, todo era posible. Cuando hicimos estas fotos, nos topamos con unas hamacas y al subirme recordé esa sensación... :) Un hermoso viaje al pasado. 

Del look mucho no puedo decir, con el calor que ha estado haciendo últimamente recurro a opciones bonitas y frescas. Este vestido fue un regalo de cumpleaños y me encanta! Tiene un estampado de manzanitas medio retro y un cuello a lo mad-hatter que lo hace especial. Si se preguntan qué cazzo le pasaba a mi pelo... pues estaba largo y descolorido, pero no se preocupen que ya me ocupé de eso. Ya verán!

When I was a little girl one of the things I enjoyed the most was playing on the swings of our backyard. Together with my friends we´d go on all sorts of odysseys... to outer space, to the future, to nowhere-land... Sometimes we pretended to be characters from our favorite shows like Power Rangers or Silverhawks. Immerse in our imagination everything was possible, even more thanks to the sense of freedom the swings gave us.

When we did these pictures, we ran into some swings... So naturally I had a major  (and beautiful) flashback to those times.

As to my outfit, I can´t really say much... It´s been so hot lately, that I´ve been trying to wear cute yet fresh stuff. I got this dress as a birthday present and I love it! It has a cute retro apple-inspired print and a mad-hatter-esque collar that makes it special. Now, if you are wondering what the heck was going on with my hair, well it was very long and discolored... but all of that is in the past now and I’ve taken care of it. You´ll see very soon! :)

Feliz Viernes a todos! :)

Hay algo que me está interesando mucho últimamente y es la incorporación de movimiento en mis fotografías. Creo que les da un toque especial, agrega una suerte de magia a la producción en sí. Mi intención a través de este blog no es solo mostrar ropa sino también hacer un juego creativo, que vos vengas y veas algo que te guste, algo que despierte en vos una sonrisa, una inspiración, un recuerdo.

Me enamoré de este vestidito apenas lo ví. Una vez que me lo probé supe que tenía que ser mío. Es lindo y femenino...

There´s something that I´ve been drawn to very much lately, that is adding movement to my pictures. I think it makes them more special, creating a magical effect. My intention through this blog is not only to feature my clothes but also develop a creative game... So that you come here and see something that you like, something that makes you smile, inspires you, reminds you of something you went through. 
I fell in love instantly with this cute dress. After trying it on I knew it had to be mine. Its pretty and feminine...

WHITE OUT

Si hay un look que es capaz de triunfar verano tras verano es uno que incluya prendas blancas... Al igual que el negro, el blanco es un color que funciona siempre, un clásico de aquellos. Lamentablemente es un color que se lo mira con más cuidado y un poco de desprecio, ya que por cuestiones de colorimetría, luces y sombras, es un color que puede no favorecer como se ve nuestro cuerpo. Sin embargo, creo que es importante saber que no siempre es así. Yo tengo varias prendas blancas y las uso con frecuencia, sobre todos cuando está lindo el día. 

Me encanta la idea de estar vestida de pies a cabeza con un solo color... y agregar un toque de pop here and there con pequeños detalles. ¿Qué les parece?

If there´s one look that´s meant to look great summer after summer, is one that has white clothes in it... Just like it´s opposite: black, white is a color that always works, it´s a timeless classic. Unfortunately it´s regarded more carefully and sometimes even slightly despised because it might not work in favor of our silhouette. Nonetheless, it´s important to know that it´s not always like that. I have quite a few white pieces and wear them frequently, especially  when the weather´s nice.
I love the idea of being dressed from head to toe in just one color... and add some pop of color here and there. What do you think?

EXTREME BLOGGING

Una de las cosas que más me gusta de mi trabajo es la posibilidad que me da de conocer gente nueva, de otros países y culturas. En Tel Aviv conocí y trabajé con Kfir, un fotógrafo muy copado. Una vez que hubo suficiente confianza entre nosotros, me atreví a preguntarle si querría hacer algunas fotos para el blog y me dijo que sí. 

Mi intención era hacer algunas fotos con la pared de corazones que se ve en las primeras fotos, pero luego seguimos caminando y adentrándonos en los alrededores del barrio... Y así nació el post que comparto con ustedes hoy: Extreme Blogging! Trepé paredes, pegué saltos ridículos, me metí entre los pasillos de un mercado cerrado -totalmente oscuro- y tomamos fotos de noche (cosa que nunca hago porque detesto como el flash me quema la piel y me veo cual vampiro!).

Espero que disfruten las fotos... fue muy divertido hacerlas para mí.

One of the things I love the most about my job is the opportunity I get to meet new people, from other countries and cultures. In Tel Aviv I met and worked with Kfir, a very cool photographer.  When we felt at ease with each other I asked him whether he´d be up for shooting some photos for the blog and he agreed.

My intention was just to make a post using the wall with hearts (seen on the first two pictures) as a background, but then we continued walking and exploring other spots of the neighborhood… And that´s how this “extreme blogging” post came to life! I climbed over walls, jumped up ridiculously, walked into the halls of a closed street market –which was completely dark btw- and we took pictures at night (which I never do to avoid looking like a vampire… thank you flash!).

I hope you enjoy the pictures… it was a lot of fun for me!

OH NEON!

El lunes pasado tuve el placer de conocer en persona a Arden Rubens la creadora de TOPCOAT, un blog de -mayoritariamente- contenido editorial. Una gran fanática de la moda, Arden tiene una debilidad por las revistas de moda, siendo Vogue su predilecta. Visitar su blog es puro placer visual, ya que tiene muy buen gusto al momento de seleccionar qué compartir. Sus posts son súper inspiradores, si no la conocen, hagan click aquí!

Al poco tiempo de llegar a Tel Aviv me puse en contacto con ella y coordinamos una blogger date para poder conocernos y hacer algo juntas. Después de un rico ice-coffee y mucha charla, nos fuimos a Nahalat Binyamin que es la calle a donde venden telas (un mini once, ponele). Paseamos un rato por ahí y por supuesto me quería comprar las mil telas. Pero después recordé que vivo de gira, no tengo tiempo ni una máquina de coser a mano... asique me conformé con un metro de algodón de seda estampado con flores muy lindo, que ya van a ver acá en el blog dentro de poco! Muy cerquita hay un mercado enorme a donde se puede comprar de todo: sombreros, comida, cuadros, bijou, cinturones, ropa interior, etc. Bien al estilo mercado! Y como no podía ser de otra forma, aprovechamos para tomar unas fotos para el blog! Hay mucha controversia con la presencia del fluo este verano y mientras que no es mi tendencia favorita, esta remera me pudo.

Estoy muy agradecida que el blog me haya acercado a gente con quien comparto la misma pasión por el mundo de la moda y la belleza. :) Gracias Arden por tu compañía y buena onda!

Last Monday I had the great pleasure of meeting Arden Rubens, the creator and editor of TOPCOAT, a blog that´s mainly filled with amazing fashion editorial posts. Arden loves fashion and has a weak spot for magazines, Vogue being her favorite. Since she has very good taste and is very selective, visiting her blog is pure visual delight. Her posts are so inspiring... so in case you don´t know her yet click here! 

Shortly after arriving at Tel Aviv I got in contact with her and we arranged a little blogger date (LOL) to get to know eachother and hang out. So, after a yummy ice coffe and nonstop chit chat, we headed to Nahalat Binyamin the street where you can buy fabric and related stuff. Naturally I wanted to buy a million different fabrics... But then I remembered that I live on tour, hence I have no time nor a sewing machine to play around with. Nonetheless I bought one meter of an amazing silk-cotton flowered fabric, that you´ll see on the blog very soon! We also wandered inside a market nearby where you could find anything: hats, food, paintings, accessories, belts, underwear, etc. And of course we did some OOTD pictures! I know there´s a big controversy about the whole neon trend this summer... and while it´s not my favorite, this t-shirt was too cute for me to resist. 

I´m so glad that having a blog has given me the chance to get to know so many amazing people with who I share the same passion for fashion and beauty. :) Thank you Arden for your company and loveliness!
