BLAZER BLANCO

Primer look desde mi regreso a Buenos Aires! Después de varios meses de estar trabajando afuera, primero en Bruselas y luego en Roma, estoy en mi querida ciudad y me hace muy feliz. Reencontrarme con mi familia y amigos es muy lindo, me recuerda que este es mi lugar y que la vida con ellos es especial, diferente, divertida.

      

Una prenda que incorporé recientemente y de la cual estoy enamorada es el blazer blanco que ven hoy!

Es liviano y fresco, de líneas simples pero súper femenino y definitivamente muy de verano. Como es relativamente nuevo aún no lo he usado mucho, pero tengo la sensación que será uno de esos comodines de la temporada.

CREAMY BEANIE :D

Último post de Bariloche, hoy presentando el gorrito de lana -o beanie como le dicen hoy en día jaja- como ítem principal. 

Gracias a que están muy de moda vienen en variadas formas y colores, con detalles divertidos y personales. Miren todas estas fashionistas cancheras y lindas con sus beanies! Quiero todosss! 

El mío es bastante clásico y lo tengo hace unos 2 años y pico ya... Lo llevé a mis vacaciones sabiendo que lo usaría si o si, ya que nunca falta el día en que el cielo se nubla y el viento sopla sin piedad. 

El lugar donde tomamos las fotos es el Lago Frías, característico por su color verde agua arcilloso que se genera por a un sedimento que arrastra el agua de la montaña cuando se va descongelando. ¿Interesante no? Hicimos una excursión en barco que nos dejó en Puerto Blest y desde ahí caminamos 3km hasta el lago... Cuando empezamos estaba súper nublado y frío, pero al llegar al lago, nuestra recompensa fue el señor sol, que nos recibió radiante y cálido. :)

Today I´m sharing my last pictures from Bariloche, showcasing a very popular winter item "the beanie". Given that these cute woolen hats are super on trend, you can find them in various stores and they come in many colors, textures and with cute details. Check out all those cute fashionistas with their favorite beanies. Ah... I want them all!!  

The one I have here is a very classic one. I´ve had it now for 2+ years... I took it with me for my vacation knowing I´d use it for sure. In the south of Argentina there´s always one of those days when it gets cloudy and the wind blows fiercely. 

We took these photos at Frías Lake, famous for its dense minty green color, which comes from sediment that the water drags when the snow melts and flows down to the lake. Interesting huh? We took a boat that dropped us at Blest Port and from there walked 3 km to find this beautiful lake. The best part was that when we first started walking it was cloudy and cold... but by the time we reached the lake, the sun was out to greet us with its light and warmth. :)

TAPADO AZUL

Aquell@s que me siguen en twitter o instagram habrán visto que estos últimos días estuve posteando algunas fotitos de mis vacaciones en Bariloche. Hoy fue el último día y mañana ya vuelvo a Buenos Aires. A pesar de que, inevitablemente, tengo esa desagradable sensación de que mis vacaciones llegaron a su fin, me siento muy agradecida de haber podido descansar este tiempo. Bariloche fue una excelente elección, lo súper recomiendo para aquellos que quieran desconectar unos días en un lugar tranquilo que derrocha belleza y paz.

Como no podía ser de otra forma, sabiendo que me iba a encontrar con increíbles paisajes, lo atormenté a mi pobre novio para que hagamos muchas fotos para el blog. El plan es ir compartiendo con ustedes diferentes looks de invierno, para el frío que en algún momento llegará! 

El ítem protagonista de este primer post barilochesco es este tapado de paño. Este lo compré en H&M a mitad de precio por unos USD35 hace unos 2 años cuando estaba trabajando en Boston. Me encanta su forma acampanada y que tenga una onda "El principito". Un tapado de este tipo está bueno para cuando hace mucho frío, ya que al ser más suelto que otros modelos permite que nos pongamos un sweater bien grueso debajo.

Those of you who follow me on twitter/instagram have probably noticed that I´ve been sharing some pics of Bariloche, where I´ve been on holidays for the past week. This town is located in the south-west of Argentina, close to the border with Chile, where the Andes Mountains are found. Right now it´s low season, but this is one of the places where most people go skiing during winter. 

Today was my last day here and I can´t help but feel a little sad that my holidays have come to an end... however, I feel very grateful that I had the chance to come here and take some time to rest. Bariloche was a great choice and I highly recommend it to those who wish to disconnect from the craziness of the city and exchange it for a place filled with beauty and peace.

Naturally, knowing that I´d be coming to a place with beautiful landscapes I tormented my boyfriend so we´d take as many blog pictures as possible. The idea is to show different winter outfits. 

The main item of this first look is this blue woolen coat. I snatched it at half price for USD 35 about 2 years ago while working in Boston. I love its loose and slightly flared shape. A coat like this is great for when it gets really cold, with enough space for one to wear a thick sweater beneath it.

BELLO ABRIL /

Creo que el clima está cada vez más raro... No sé si es correcto llevar tan poca ropa a esta altura del año. Sin embargo, debo admitir que hay algo en estos días de abril que no puedo resistir, todo me parece lindo. Los árboles empiezan a cambiar sus colores y las tardes parecen más cálidas a medida que el sol de otoño, más tenue que el incandescente de verano, nos acaricia un poco antes de regalarnos la noche. 

El miércoles pasado tuve el gusto de ir a un evento organizado por Beauty Hunter en el cual se trató la temática de la tendencia del blanco y negro, tanto en moda con una charla + slideshow de la mano de Belén Ortega así como también de maquillaje  cortesía de la encantadora Mery García. Ver todas esas fotos me inspiraron a hacer mi propia versión de la propuesta, con un toque de color y textura.

As years go by I´m starting to think that the weather is getting really weird... I don´t think it´s right to wear such few clothes at this time of the year. For those of you wondering why, it´s because in Argentina it should be fall already, meaning chunky sweaters and jackets! However, I must admit that there´s something very special about this kind of April, everything looks so beautiful and dreamy. The trees start to change their colors and the afternoons seem cozyer as the sun´s smooth light caresses us on its way to dusk.  

Last wednesday I had the pleasure of attending a pretty neat event hosted by Beauty Hunter (a very cool local beauty website) that was about the whole black and white trend, that affect both the fashion and makeup industry. Belén Ortega talked about how so many designers have shown black and white in their recent collections while going  through a slideshow where many examples were shown. Then, Mery García a local makeup artist, showed us a very cute make up look to pair with a B&W outfit, featuring soft eyeliner and bold red lips. Seeing all those pictures really inspired me to do my own version of how I like to wear black and white, adding a little color and some texture.

NEW IN: BORCEGOS

Buen lunes!

Hace algunas semanas, en un ataque compulsivo, compré no uno sino dos pares de borcegos. En este caso, de la ya conocida marca Rauch, que se dedica expresamente a este tipo de zapatería. Tienen modelos permanentes, como los matelassé que muestro hoy y algunos de temporada, donde juegan con otros colores y texturas y son de edición limitada. 

Ésta, es una tendencia a la que llegué tarde... Los borcegos tuvieron su apogeo hace unos tres años, pero, como me pasa con algunas tendencias, al verlos por todos lados me saturé y dije NO. Ojo, digo algunas, porque hay otras tendencias que las abrazo en su pleno esplendor -como verán más abajo- y me importa poco y nada que todas estemos iguales. Tampoco piensen que vengo a hacerme la trasgresora y la antitendencia jaja Qué se yo... con algunas pasa, con otras no. 

Lo bueno de mi compra, fue que aposté por un color que , como comentaba en el post anterior, está a pleno para este invierno 13´: EL BORDÓ... Creo que igual es un color bastante clásico y seguro me siga gustando por bastante tiempo! 

Para lucirlos los combiné en un marco muy clásico: jeans + remera rayada. Pero como siempre eso no fue suficiente, y tuve que agregar un poco de color con mi pedazo de tela floreado que compré en Tel Aviv cuando paseaba con Arden (y también usé ACÁ). Ah...Te extraño Tel Aviv!

Hey everyone!
A few weeks ago I had an urge that every woman has every now and then: shopping! This time it wasn´t so serious... However, I bought not one, but two pairs of laced boots. I got them at an Argentinean brand called Rauch. They started as a small bussiness and have continued to grow tremendously in the past 3 years. Laced booties are their main focus and they offer a permanent line (like the ones I´m wearing here, the matelassé model) and then a limited line that gets renewed every season, where they play with different textures and colors. 
Now, I´ve realized that I arrived late to the whole laced boots trend... I remember they had their heyday like 3 years ago. The problem was that I wasn´t interested in buying a pair when all the stores were flooded with them. This tends to happen to me when a trend is very popular... I lose interest in it. But this isn´t always the case, of course. There are other trends that I´m head over heels for and I don´t care if all of us girls are wearing the same thing. I don´t know... sometimes it happens, and other times it doesn´t. 
The good thing about my purchase is that I chose them in a beautiful Burgundy color that, like i mentioned on a previous post, is super on trend this winter and I completely love! I think it´s still a very classic color, so I´m sure I´ll give these babies plenty of use.
This time, I paired them with a very simple ensemble: jeans + a striped long sleeve tee. I still needed to add a pop of color, so I chose the piece of floral fabric that I bought in Tel Aviv, while Arden and I were walking around (also wore it HERE).  Ah how I miss you Tel Aviv!

FLOWER POWER!

Hace bastante tiempo que vengo viendo como los estampados están cada vez más presentes en las colecciones. Durante el verano y ahora también para lo nuevo de  otoño/invierno, la estampa floreada se ha sumado y debo admitir que me encanta! Una prenda estampada, hace de un conjunto algo mucho más vibrante y especial. Pero hay que tener cuidado de no sobrecargarnos... Lo mejor es armar el look con prendas lisas o menos llamativas -con un print chiquito en monocromo, por ejemplo- que acompañen al estampado y dejen que se luzca. Sino podríamos obtener un resultado demasiado ruidoso. También recomendaría, en caso de llevar un pantalón estampado -ya sea floreado o no-, usar zapatos con al menos un poquito de taco. Los estampados tienden a hacer la visual un poco mas ancha, por ende es importante estilizar la figura con un par de centímetros extra.

Otro de los hits de la temporada, como habrán visto en casi todas las vidrieras, es el bordó. Este es un color que siempre me gustó, al igual que el azul marino y el verde militar (o musgo como le dice mi abuela, porque militar no le gusta! jaja), son colores clásicos y finos que siempre se ven bien. Si bien los zapatos son viejos, los compré en Orlando hace poco más de un año, la cartera es relativamente nueva y desde que la tengo se convirtió en mi compañera fiel. Su modelo tipo tote hace de ella una galera mágica, entra de todo (por ende no encuentro nada) y es muy cómoda para todos los días.

For a while now I´ve noticed how printed pieces have become more and more popular among fashion collections. During summer and now for fall/winter (here in Buenos Aires we have opposite seasons) I´ve noticed that flower-print clothes are all over the place and I love it! I think that a printed piece can make a whole outfit come alive, make it  more vibrant and special. However, it´s highly important to balance the boldness of the print by pairing it with more subtle pieces that don´t overpower the print and, instead, let it shine, without the whole thing looking "too busy". Also, when wearing printed pants - both flowery or any other print-, I´d higlhy recommend to wear shoes with at least a tiny bit of a heel. Visually, prints give a wider impression of our body, so to help countereffect this, a nice pair of heels will give a much slimmer appearance. 

Another big hit this season, as you might´ve noticed on every store´s window display, is burgundy. This is a color that I´ve liked for a long time, along with navy blue and military green (or moss green, like my grandma prefers me to call it LOL), all of them are classic tones that will always work and look good. Now, despite the fact that the shoes are old (i´m a trend-predicter you know...), the tote bag is relatively new... and since i got it I can´t stop using it! Being a large sized bag makes me feel like I have a magicians hat, everything fits in it and and it´s very comfotable for everyday use.

SIMPLE

Para fin de año viajé por 3 días 500km hacia el suroeste de la provincia de Buenos Aires donde mi familia paterna tiene campo... Destino: El Charito una pequeña estancia llena de magia donde pasé muchas vacaciones de pequeña. Ivonne (o Bonky como le decía yo), mi tía abuela, siempre nos esperaba con los brazos abiertos y hacía de nuestra estadía algo especial. Nos deleitaba con sus cookies caseras, nos encantaba con sus historias de campo y nos entretenía en los momentos de aburrimiento enseñándonos a bordar y jugar al crocket.  

El motivo del viaje esta vez fue muy insólito... mi prima segunda se casaba ahí! Y digo insólito porque ella nació y se crió en francia, por ende no era un simple viajecito de 4 horas sino toda una movida tanto para ella como para sus parientes y amigos que se trasladaron desde allá para compartir este momento tan importante. 

Como la casa estaba llena de franceses, nosotros nos instalamos en un pueblito cercano, lugar donde saqué estas fotos. 

Un look muy tranqui, pero lleno de detalles bonitos!

Back in December I went away, 500km southwest within the province of Buenos Aires, to spend New Year’s and also attend my second cousins wedding. The place where the wedding was held is a small ranch called "El Charito" where my great-aunt Ivonne used to live. This was one of the places where I´d go to during summer break when I was a kid… I have the nicest memories of my days spent there. Ivonne (or Bonky how I nicknamed her) would delight us with her homemade cookies, enchant us with her countryside stories and entertain us when boredom was inevitable, by teaching us how to embroider and to play croquet. 

My cousins’ wedding was actually quite a shocker... not because she was getting married, but actually because she is French, as in living in France!! And she decided to celebrate it here in Argentina... So imagine a bunch of french friends and relatives invading El Charito. It was definitely something special, unique and beautiful!

Given the house was full, my dad, grandma and I stayed at a hotel in a small town nearby, where we shot these pictures. 

A very simple outfit, but full of nice details!

Hace unos meses, les mostré estos mismos pantalones en este post, que me cautivaron por ser de un color increíble, un súper naranja. Hace poco, haciendo una revisión de mis colores favoritos de 2012, me di cuenta que el naranja y el azul fueron los 2 más recurrentes.

No les pasa que cuando les gusta un color, lo ven en todos lados? Inconscientemente lo buscan cuando van de shopping y cuando no también? A mí me pasa mucho! Recuerdo que hace unos años, era el gris... estaba completamente obsesionada con las prendas y objetos de ese color. En 2011 fueron las rayas... y en 2012 los colores fuertes y el animal print. Veremos cuál será la obsesión de 2013!!!

A few months ago, in Tangerine Dreams, I showed you these amazingly orange pants, that naturally captivated me with their citrusy tint. Also I realized that orange and blue were my top 2 colors during 2012.
The way it works with me, whenever I like one particular color I happen to see it and find it in everything I see. This process happens both concious and unconsiously... I´m sure you feel the same!  A few years ago I was head over heels for anything gray. In 2011 it was anything striped or navy inspired. 2012 was very much about bold colors and animal print. We´ll see what 2013 brings! I´m sure I´ll find something to get obsessed with!
