TRIBAL & PINK

Durante mi corto viaje de fin de año, como no podía ser de otra forma, aproveché parte del tiempo para sacar fotos. Dando vueltas con Vieji (mi abuela) por el pueblo, nos encontramos con esta fabulosa y destruida pared. Las dos nos miramos y supimos que sería un excelente fondo para la producción. Nuestro invitado especial fue el viento que se encargó de hacer bailar a mi pelo. 

Cuando hace calor, me gusta mucho usar vestidos... Son cómodos, lindos, femeninos y frescos. Si  llega a hacer un poco de frío me pongo unos leggings y listo! Este vestido estampado (regalo de mamá... Gracias!) es una excelente prenda para el verano. Para no quedar tan apagada, agregué un saquito fucsia y pulseras de colores.

During my short December trip I took advantage of my free time to take some blog photos. Going around town with Vieji (my grandma) we run into this amazing and slightly destroyed wall. We looked at eachother and we knew it´d be an excellent setting to shoot the pictures. Our special guest that day was Mr. Wind, who executed just fine the task of dancing with my hair. 

When it comes to hot summer days like these I love wearing dresses... They´re comfortable, cute, feminine and fresh. If it gets a little chilly I just add some leggings and voilá! This tribal print dress (gift from mom, -thanks!-) is an excellent piece for summer. And because I didn´t want to look so dull and grey, I popped on some color with a pink cardigan and colorful bracelets.

SIMPLE

Para fin de año viajé por 3 días 500km hacia el suroeste de la provincia de Buenos Aires donde mi familia paterna tiene campo... Destino: El Charito una pequeña estancia llena de magia donde pasé muchas vacaciones de pequeña. Ivonne (o Bonky como le decía yo), mi tía abuela, siempre nos esperaba con los brazos abiertos y hacía de nuestra estadía algo especial. Nos deleitaba con sus cookies caseras, nos encantaba con sus historias de campo y nos entretenía en los momentos de aburrimiento enseñándonos a bordar y jugar al crocket.  

El motivo del viaje esta vez fue muy insólito... mi prima segunda se casaba ahí! Y digo insólito porque ella nació y se crió en francia, por ende no era un simple viajecito de 4 horas sino toda una movida tanto para ella como para sus parientes y amigos que se trasladaron desde allá para compartir este momento tan importante. 

Como la casa estaba llena de franceses, nosotros nos instalamos en un pueblito cercano, lugar donde saqué estas fotos. 

Un look muy tranqui, pero lleno de detalles bonitos!

Back in December I went away, 500km southwest within the province of Buenos Aires, to spend New Year’s and also attend my second cousins wedding. The place where the wedding was held is a small ranch called "El Charito" where my great-aunt Ivonne used to live. This was one of the places where I´d go to during summer break when I was a kid… I have the nicest memories of my days spent there. Ivonne (or Bonky how I nicknamed her) would delight us with her homemade cookies, enchant us with her countryside stories and entertain us when boredom was inevitable, by teaching us how to embroider and to play croquet. 

My cousins’ wedding was actually quite a shocker... not because she was getting married, but actually because she is French, as in living in France!! And she decided to celebrate it here in Argentina... So imagine a bunch of french friends and relatives invading El Charito. It was definitely something special, unique and beautiful!

Given the house was full, my dad, grandma and I stayed at a hotel in a small town nearby, where we shot these pictures. 

A very simple outfit, but full of nice details!

HAMACAS & MANZANAS

Cuando era chiquita una de las cosas que más me gustaba hacer era jugar en las hamacas de mi jardín. Junto a mis amigos inventábamos todo tipo de odiseas... al espacio, al futuro, a la nada... A veces nos convertíamos en personajes de los programas que veíamos, como los power rangers o los halcones galácticos. Sumergidos en nuestra imaginación y el vaivén de las hamacas que alentaba nuestra libertad, todo era posible. Cuando hicimos estas fotos, nos topamos con unas hamacas y al subirme recordé esa sensación... :) Un hermoso viaje al pasado. 

Del look mucho no puedo decir, con el calor que ha estado haciendo últimamente recurro a opciones bonitas y frescas. Este vestido fue un regalo de cumpleaños y me encanta! Tiene un estampado de manzanitas medio retro y un cuello a lo mad-hatter que lo hace especial. Si se preguntan qué cazzo le pasaba a mi pelo... pues estaba largo y descolorido, pero no se preocupen que ya me ocupé de eso. Ya verán!

When I was a little girl one of the things I enjoyed the most was playing on the swings of our backyard. Together with my friends we´d go on all sorts of odysseys... to outer space, to the future, to nowhere-land... Sometimes we pretended to be characters from our favorite shows like Power Rangers or Silverhawks. Immerse in our imagination everything was possible, even more thanks to the sense of freedom the swings gave us.

When we did these pictures, we ran into some swings... So naturally I had a major  (and beautiful) flashback to those times.

As to my outfit, I can´t really say much... It´s been so hot lately, that I´ve been trying to wear cute yet fresh stuff. I got this dress as a birthday present and I love it! It has a cute retro apple-inspired print and a mad-hatter-esque collar that makes it special. Now, if you are wondering what the heck was going on with my hair, well it was very long and discolored... but all of that is in the past now and I’ve taken care of it. You´ll see very soon! :)

A List About: TORINO

Bien, prepárense porque pretendo escribir algo así como un montón.

Siempre me gustó hablar mucho, por ende se traslada al ámbito escrito. Digamos que soy algo así como súper comunicativa. :) Asique, para todos aquellos a los que NO les interese leer nada de lo que sigue, pueden saltar directo a las fotos. Capaz ni siquiera van a leer esto y ya se fueron rajando a ver qué me puse. ja! this is fun.

Hablemos de Torino, Italia:

En esta instancia voy a hacer referencia a una amiga, Jax de Raviolis&Waterworks, que se caracteriza por tener un gran amor a la confección de LISTAS. Como hace poco me pidió que cuente más de Italia, confeccioné una lista para que se ajuste a su idea de representación de las cosas.

 Autos chicos

A diferencia de Orlando, donde las camionetas y los mega autos abundaban, acá el que tiene el auto más chico es el más campeón. Las calles son angostas y el espacio para estacionar, limitado... Si tenés un Smart podés estacionarlo paralelo o perpendicular a la vereda, porque total ocupa el mismo espacio. ESTO se ve muy seguido.

Comida

Como no podía ser de otro modo, la comida es una delicia. Los sandwiches, la pizza, la pasta, el helado y el yogurt son riquísimos.

Café

Al igual que en Argentina, el café es muy bueno. PERO acá pedís un café y te dan un centímetro concentrado del mismo... el famoso ristretto.  Si querés un café con leche, pedí un Cappuccino. y si no querés que sea pura espuma, pedí Senza Schiuma!

Kinder

OMG... vas al supermercado y hay prácticamente una góndola entera de productos Kinder con la cual, claramente, tengo una relación de amor-odio.

 Via Roma

Es una de las calles principales de Torino... y donde están ubicadas muchísimas tiendas importantes. Podés encontrar desde Louis Vuitton y Hermes, hasta H&M y Zara. Es muy lindo para ir a pasear un rato!

Siesta

En este aspecto, Torino es un pueblo! A las 13:00hs cierra todo y las calles se vacían hasta las 15:30hs. Se ve que aún viven la buena vida y gozan de su siesta diaria!

Aromas desagradables

Creo que lo único que no me gusta de esta ciudad es que hay mucho olor a basura y a pis en la calle!

Mercados

En Torino hay 10 mercados! Se ubican a lo largo de ciertas calles o plazas y venden de todo: frutas, verduras, quesos, ropa usada, ropa nueva, artículos varios, maquillaje, zapatos, etc. Es muy divertida la experiencia de estar ahí en el tumulto de gente y encontrar gangas!

Pelo

Abundan las melenas descontroladas, unos rulos que nunca ví! Y los llevan con mucha actitud! J Pero también, y esto me llamó la atención, muchas chicas jóvenes con pelo MUY corto.

Parque Valentino

Este parque es impresionante! Está súper bien cuidado y es atracción para todas las edades. Es perfecto para ir a hacer un pic nic, como también hacer ejercicio o simplemente sentarse a leer un libro.

Qué me puse? remera de Urban Outfitters, Sweater de Dillard´s (USA), Collar que compré en Panamá en una tienda cualquiera, Pantalones de H&M, Chatitas de Animal Print de Zara, Parka de Forever 21, reloj de Swatch y cartera Celine Look A Like, Ross (USA).

Ok, get ready because I’m going to write a helluva-lot! I´ve always been a very talkative person, therefore I’m the same way when it comes to writing. Let´s say that I’m a very comunicative person. J So, for those not interested in reading that much, I’m pretty sure you went straight to the photos! Maybe you won´t even read this. LOL This is fun.

Let´s talk about Turin, Italy:

Right now i´ll mention a friend of mine Jax, from Raviolis & Waterworks, who has a particular thing for making LISTS. And because she recently asked me to tell more about Torino, I thought I’d do her the honor of putting it all down in a pretty little list to suit her the best way possible!

 Small Cars

Unlike in Orlando, where SUV´s and ginormous cars are seen constantly, here the one with the smallest car is the champ! The streets are incredibly narrow and parking space is limited. So, if you have a Smart you can park the thing parallel or perpendicularly to the side walk! It takes up the same space (I know, it´s ridiculous). THIS i see A LOT.

Food

Of course it couldn´t have been any other way… and the food is delicious! The sandwiches, the pasta, the pizza, the yougurt and the gelato are amazing!

Coffee

Just like in Argentina, coffee is very good. BUT here, when you order a cup of coffee they pour you a cubic centimeter of it… yes, the famous ristretto. So if you want a latte, you should order a cappuccino. And if you don´t want it to be pure foam, ask for it Senza Schiuma!

Kinder

OMG... when you go to the supermarket there´s like a whole isle of Kinder products. And of course I already have a love-hate relationship with it. They are SO yum!!

 Via Roma

This is one of Turin´s main streets… and where lots of important stores are located. You can find stores like Louis Vuitton and Hermes, but also H&M and Zara. It´s very nice to go for a walk over there.  

Siesta

In this aspect, Turin is like a small town! Everything closes by 1:00 PM and the streets are empty until 3:30 PM. Looks like they´re still living the good life and get to enjoy their daily nap!

Horrible Smell

This is probably the only thing i don´t like about this city… It smells like garbage and urine everywhere! Its gross and feels unsanitary! :(

Markets

There are 10 markets in Turin! They´re located along certain streets or squares and they sell almost anything. You can find: fruit, vegetables, cheese, vintage clothing, new clothes, random stuff, make up products, shoes, etc. It´s a lot of fun to just live the experience of blending in with the crowd and finding bargains!

Hair

There are some crazy hair do´s, curls like I’ve never seen before! And they wear them with loads of attitude! I´ve also seen lots of young girls with VERY short hair.

Parque Valentino

This park is absolutely amazing! It´s maintenance is impeccable and it attracts people of all ages. It´s perfect to go on a pic nic, but also to go jogging or even to just simply sit down and read a book.

LIMA RELOADED!

Hola! Cómo los encuentra este jueves? Espero que muy bien! :)

Como comenté en este otro post, una tendencia que me atrapó bastante últimamente es todo aquello de color verde lima. La musculosa de estas fotos la compré hace unos meses y me encantó básicamente porque es suelta y súper liviana, lo cual es óptimo para los días de calor que no dan ganas de tener algo pegado al cuerpo. Lo combiné con esta pollera negra (que también usé acá) porque da la sensación de que es una sola prenda y esa ilusión de vestido me pareció genial. Pero como no me podía conformar con 3 colores, agregué un poco de pop con algunos flashes de rojo y mis flats de leopardo. DONE!

Qué les parece? Qué colores están usando estos días?

PD: vi la película “Hugo” hace unos días y me pareció muy linda! No solo me encantó la historia, sino que me pareció espectacular desde la música, la ambientación, los colores… todo! La súper recomiendo.

PD 2: estuve escuchando mucho el último cd de Coldplay, Mylo Xyloto, también aprovecho para recomendarlo. Si o si, escuchar con auriculares!

Hi everyone! How is this Thursday trating you? I hope very well!

Like I mentioned in this post, one of the trends that got to me lately is anything lime green. I bought this top a few months ago and I fell for it because its loose and very light, which is great for those hot days when you don´t feel like having clothes glued to your body. I paired it with this black skirt (also worn here) because it looks like it’s just one piece of clothing… and that illusion of a dress looked pretty cool! But of course I couldn´t just settle for 3 colors, so I added a little pop with some flashes of red and my leopard flats. DONE!

What do you think? Which colors have you been wearing most lately?

PS: I saw “Hugo” a few days ago and I loved it! Not only I loved the story, but I also think that the music, the scenery and the colors were spectacular… I highly recommend it!

PS 2: lately I’ve been listening Coldplay´s newest album, Mylo Xyloto, a LOT. I also wanted to recommend it! I think it’s very important to use headphones.

FLORES EN MIS PIES!

Este título me hace pensar en la canción "flores en el mar" de Jorge Drexler, uno de mis artistas favoritos. Puedo decir que incluso tuve el agrado de conocerlo! En uno de los tantos trabajos que tuve en lo que va de mi corta vida, trabajé varias veces en recitales haciendo diferentes tareas: desde venta de merchandising hasta acreditación de prensa, como también producción de camarines y catering.

Dos veces fui parte del equipo que trabajó para los recitales de Jorge en el Teatro Gran Rex. La primera fue en mayo de 2008 y la segunda en septiembre de 2010. Fue un placer trabajar para él y su banda... Acondicionamos su camarín con sillones, velitas, sahumerios, té de muchos sabores y miel. Jorge es una persona muy sencilla, agradable y con un gran sentido del humor. Siempre le habla al público de una forma muy particular entremezclando timidez con carisma. A mí me gusta su música hace mucho tiempo (me atrevo a decir casi 10 años), las letras son espectaculares, originales y sentidas. Creo que uno de los rasgos más importantes de la música es generar EMOCIÓN... y Jorge lo logra! :)

No puedo elegir uno solo de sus discos como favorito (tiene tantos!), pero  tengo mis canciones predilectas.

Today´s post title (flowers on my feet) reminds me of the song Flores en el Mar (flowers in the sea) by Jorge Drexler, one of my favorite artists. I can actually say that I was lucky enough to meet him. One of the many jobs that I’ve had so far in my not-so-long life was working at concerts doing different tasks: from selling official merchandise, to press accreditation and also dressing room + catering production assistant.

Twice I had the opportunity of being a part of the team that worked for Jorge´s concerts at Teatro Gran Rex (Buenos Aires). The first time was in May 2008 and the second one in September 2010. It was a great pleasure working for him and his band… We decorated his dressing room with nice sofas, lit some candles and incense, and left lots of different flavored tea bags and honey. Jorge is a simple person, he´s very nice and has a great sense of humor. He always talks to his audience in a very particular way, mixing shyness and charisma. I´ve liked his music for a long time now (I dare say like 10 years), the lyrics are just amazing, creative and heartfelt. To me, one of the most important things in music is finding an artist that can generate EMOTION… and I think Jorge nails it!

I can´t choose just one favorite album (he has so many!) but I do have a few songs that I like best.

I recommend: Al Otro Lado Del Río, Salvapantallas, Zamba del Olvido, 730 días, Dos Colores: Blanco y Negro, La Edad Del Cielo, Camino a la Paloma, Fusión, Transoceánica, 12 segundos de Oscuridad, Cara B, Noctiluca, Un País con el Nombre de un Río, Equipaje, Uno y Soledad.
