La inspiración para vestirnos puede venir de muchas formas. A veces la encontramos en los lugares más obvios como en revistas, pasarelas y lookbooks que la industria de la moda nos ofrece. Otras veces es menos directo el proceso... Vemos una obra de arte que mezcla ciertos colores de una forma que nunca hubiéramos pensado y a los pocos días nos encontramos remixando nuestro guardarropa de acuerdo a estas imágenes que se quedan en nuestra cabeza. A veces está en los paisajes. La naturaleza tiene todas las claves para una combinación perfecta y ni siquiera lo intenta. Nunca me hubiese imaginado que el dicho "la naturaleza es sabia" aplicaría para algo tan banal como la moda. Pero es así.
Si algún día te encontrás sin ideas para elegir qué ponerte, ahora ya sabés a dónde buscar!
Anyways, volviendo al punto... La inspiración detrás del look de hoy vino de un conjunto de la campaña invierno 2011 del diseñador Giambattista Valli, uno de los grandes influyentes en el comeback del famoso peplum. Este conjunto se vio en revistas y street style como también en la red carpet cuando la actriz Emma Stone lo usó para la premiere de Friends With Benefits. (ver fotos abajo)
Pero como nosotras las mujeres "reales" no tenemos tanto dinero como para comprarnos el conjunto original lo tomamos como inspiración y lo aplicamos a nuestra vida y billetera.

Inspiration to get dressed can come in many ways. Sometimes we get inspired in the most obvious ways such as from seeing magazines, runway shows and lookbooks that the fashion industry offers us. Some other times the process is less direct… We might see a painting that has certain colors mixed in together in a way that we would have never thought of and a few days later we find ourselves re-mixing stuff from our wardrobe imitating those images that remained in our memory. Sometimes inspiration is in a landscape. Mother Nature always has the best ways to pair up colors perfectly and it doesn´t even try! I would have never imagined that the saying “nature is wise” would ever apply to something as vane as fashion. But it does, and that´s the way it is.
If you ever find yourself completely lost when choosing an outfit, now you know where to look!
Anyways, going back to the point… The inspiration for today´s outfit post came from a look I saw from Giambattista Valli´s fall 11´ collection. Valli is one of the highly influential designers responsible for the peplum´s comeback in fashion. This outfit was seen on editorial work, street style snap shots and also on the red carpet when actress Emma Stone wore it for the Friends With Benefits premiere. But because the “real” women like us don´t have that much money to splurge on that outfit, we get inspired by it and apply it the way we can to our lives, and above all, in a way that applies to our wallet (and its limits! LOL).
