B L U E • T O P I T O S

Una de las cosas que pasa cuando una cambia de look drásticamente es que de pronto los colores que usamos varían. No es que los de antes no te gustan, es que se generan nuevas ideas y combinaciones y de pronto notás que ciertos colores se ven mejor que nunca cuando te mirás en el espejo. 
Este es el caso del azul marino ahora que soy blonda. Es un color clásico que siempre me gustó, de hecho era mi favorito cuando era niña, y lo he usado muchísimo, pero ahora lo veo con ojos diferentes, recurrentes. ;) 
Fue así que con este nuevo amor por el azul me reencontré con ésta falda de topitos, o lunares, que compré hace un par de años en Gap. Me encanta. Es súper femenina, delicada y cómoda. Y aunque es más de verano, con medias va súper bien.

 ¿Les pasó algo similar luego de un cambio de look?

One of the things that tend to happen when you change your look drastically is that suddenly you start wearing different colors. It´s not that you no longer like your good old faves, but the truth is that new pairings arrise and you notice that certain colors look amazingly well, like never before.
This is what happened to me with navy blue since I´m a blonde. It´s definitely one of those classic colors ( which btw was my favorite when I was a little girl) that I´ve worn  many times, but that I see through different eyes now. Hence, I gravitate to it frequently. 
It´s thanks to this rekindled love with blue that I came accross this cute polka dot skirt that I got at Gap a couple of years ago. I love it! It´s femenine, delicate and super comfy. And, although it´s more of a summer piece, I love how it looks on layered with tights. 

Have you experienced anything similar after a major makeover?

Buen martes lluvioso a todos! 

Considerando que los protocolos al momento de vestirse ya son cada vez menos y la diversidad y expresión personal de cada uno está más aceptada, son pocos los momentos en que realmente debemos comportarnos conforme a una etiqueta. Entonces, puede pasar, que haya ciertas piezas más formales o elegantes de nuestro ropero que queden medio abandonadas, esperando la ocasión para salir de paseo.
Eso me pasaba con este saco de inspiración Chanel que compré hace unos años en Forever 21 durante un viaje. Recuerdo que me pareció, como dicen las chicas españolas, una monada y me lo llevé. Pero después resultó que lo terminé usando muy poco… Más que nada porque no quería ponérmelo y quedar "demasiado producida" en una situación o lugar en el que capaz no correspondía. Como les contaba en el post anterior, ahora que tengo toda mi ropa en un mismo lugar puedo jugar un poco más y crear nuevos looks. Así es como surgió esta propuesta que combina las piezas más comunes y corrientes con otras un poco más sofisticadas.

T E A T I M E

Cuando vi esta prenda floreada por un lado fue amor a primera vista, pero también me hizo acordar mucho a esos juegos de té ingleses que suelen tener las abuelas. Por si no los conocen, normalmente están estampados con motivos florales y otros dibujos delicados y muy lindos.

Por otro lado, no piensen que abandoné el barco! Ya me mudé y fui al lollapalooza (me embarré toda, amé a Phoenix!!) y trabajé los últimos dos fines de semana! jaja así que podrán apreciar que estuve ocupada, pero tengo muchos posts para compartir con ustedes una vez que termine de acomodarme… El departamento ya está en condiciones bastante decentes, pero aún quedan cosas por hacer, cajas por desarmar, estantes que instalar, etc… Así que pretendo aprovechar este fin de semana para eso. ¿Se van a algún lado para semana santa? 

De cualquier forma, les deseo una excelente semana y que estén muy bien. :)

When I saw this floral print top it was like love at first sight, but at the same time it instantly reminded me of those beautiful english tea-sets that your grandma tends to have. In case you´ve never seen them, they´re well known for having floral prints and other cute and delicate designs on them. 

On the other hand, please don´t think I´ve abandoned the blog! In the past few weeks lots has happened… I moved in to my new apartment with Guido, I went to Lollapalooza (which debuted in Argentina for the first time! YAY! I loved Phoenix´s performance, it was so amazing) and on top of that I worked both weekends… So, I guess you get the picture, I´ve ben very busy! Still, I have many posts I want to share with you, so in due time I´ll get back to posting more frequently! :)

the apartment is doing quite well, but there´s still quite a lot to do, so I´ll take advantage of easter´s long weekend to get stuff done! Are you going away somewhere for the weekend?

ROMANTIC DENIM

Si hay algo que me encanta hacer al momento de vestirme es combinar estilos que parece que contrastan, pero que en realidad se complementan maravillosamente. Ese es el caso del look de hoy, donde se mezcla un vestidito romántico de una tela volátil y etérea con una camperita de jean clásica, con la dureza y rigidez característica del denim. Esta última no es mía -ojalá-, me la prestó mi cuñada Jazmín  (que además me regaló su tiempo y ofició de fotógrafa -Gracias!-) y ahora estoy en problemas porque estaría queriendo una así para mí!

¿Alguien tiene algún lugar para recomendarme que vendan camperas de jean? 
¿Qué tal les fue el finde largo?

Hola gatitos curiosos! ^_^ Hi there curious kittens!

There´s something that I love to do when choosing what to wear, and that is to mix and match styles that look very different. Items that seem to contrast sometimes pair amazingly well together. That is the case of today´s outfit where a very ethereal and romantic dress are paired with the roughness and classic style of a denim jacket, which by the way isn´t mine -I wish-. It actually belongs to my sister in law, Jazmín, who not only lent me her jacket but also gave me her time and was the photographer of this shoot. Thanks! Now I´m in trouble because I want a jacket just like hers! >_<


Do you know of any brands/stores that sell these type of jean jackets?

Que el clima en Buenos Aires ha estado cilcotímico últimamente  ya no es novedad. A pesar de que esas subas y bajas de temperatura vuelven loca a mi garganta, mi lado fashionista se contenta con la posibilidad de ir un poco más abrigada y desempolvar ciertas prendas que han estado desplazadas. 

Unos pantalones negros son un must en el guardarropas de toda mujer... Son un comodín que se puede adaptar a muchas ocasiones, desde un look ultra profesional,  hasta algo bien casual y distendido. En mi caso, siempre trato de poner un poco de color y textura en mis atuendos y así salir de lo predecible. En el caso de hoy, un slight neon y un sweater de polka dots. ¿Qué opinan?

It´s old news that the weather in Buenos Aires has been crazy. These abrupt climate changes keep messing up my throat´s health... however, the fashionista inside me gets quite excited because I get the chance to wear warmer clothes and use pieces that have been kept away for a while.
A pair of black pants is a must in every womans´ closet... You can dress them up or down, depending on the etiquette the occasion requires: from professional to casual. When using such classic pieces, I try to add a little bit of color and texture so as to fall out of the expected pairing.  For today´s look I paired my black skinny pants with a slightly-neon yellow tee and a super cute polka dot cardi. What do you think?

A VECES LLUEVE...

Es cierto que la lluvia no le agrada a mucha gente. Complica el transito, moja los pies, da sueño y ganas de quedarse en casa viendo películas, tomando sopa y comiendo chocolate. Pero también refresca, hace que las plantas y los árboles se vean más verdes y da la sensación que revitaliza al mundo. A mí me gusta la lluvia. El ruido que hace cuando cae sobre el techo me tranquiliza y adormece, casi como una canción de cuna. 

Anyways...

Justo antes de irme de USA me compré una buclera. Fiel a la contradicción típica de las mujeres en cuanto al pelo, siendo que el mío es súper lacio siempre deseé tener pelo ondulado o con rulos.  Pero las pocas veces que intenté hacerme rulos siempre terminaban desapareciendo al cabo de media hora. Viendo un par de tutorials en Youtube me di cuenta que lo que estaba necesitando era un producto que los fijara en su lugar. Y lo logré! Con el uso del mousse Luxurious Volume de John Frieda ahí se quedan por horas! :) 

Qué experimentos han hecho con su pelo?

Qué me puse? camisa de jean  y falda negra de Forever 21, sweater marrón y medias negras de H&M, botas de gamuza de Aldo, aros + collar piña H&M, vincha-collar Macy´s.

It´s true that a lot of people don´t like rain. It complicates traffic, wets your feet, makes you sleepy and inspires you to wish you could stay home watching movies, eating soup and dishing on yummy chocolate bars. But It also freshens the air, makes plants and trees look greener and to me it feels like it revitalizes everything. I happen to like rain. I love the noise it makes when it hits the roof… it soothes and relaxes my senses, almost like a lullaby.

Anyways…

Right before I left the US I bought a curling iron. Us women happen to be ridiculously obsessed with having the hair that we weren´t born with. So in my case, given that I have fine and straight hair i´ve always craved wavy big hair. But the few times I gave it a try, the curls would disappear in as little as 30 minutes. But recently, after watching a few tutorials on Youtube I realized that all I was missing was a good product to fix those curls in place. And I made it!! With John Frieda´s luxurious volume mousse my waves stay in place for hours!
